At least since Jan Delay's album cover "Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Soul" from 2009, the historic Hamburger Sternbrücke has been known to many far beyond the Elbe. With its combination of transport hub, club culture and mini-Kiez, which is unique in Hamburg, it is an indispensable unit.

This small place manages like no other to capture the hectic city life during the day on the one hand and the quiet everyday life of the residents and the dim and real nightlife - currently slowed down by the pandemic - of Hamburg on the other.

For modernization reasons and against the will of the citizens, it was decided to demolish the bridge and 7 of the local residents' houses with the clubs, restaurants and kiosks located there.
